Pretty good book depicting sad events. It captured my attention and I read it through. It was sad and disturbing

I was spellbound. Such great writing. I am amazed people actually live like this right now! God bless those who escape and are able to tell their story.
This book was a good read with alot of interesting information about the polygamist sect of Mormons, and the characters in the story were vividly described and drew you in to their lives. I would recommend this book, especially if you are interested in this history of Mormonism and how they lived the lifestyle of pologamy.
I've read many a books on polygamy and the lives of women living in the radical break-away sects of the Church of Mormon LDS, known as the Fundamentalist Church of the Latter Day Saints or FLDS, and all of them keep me interested and make me angry, so of course, this book held up to those standards I expect when reading anything on the subject. I was irate, sad, in total disbelief of the things that people will do and believe with out questioning, because their religion tells them that "it is so". I found myself identifying with the character and cheering her on in her plot to fool those around her and to escape, and I found that the book - to my disappointment - ending very abruptly, and really with out satisfactorily ending the story! I hated the ending! Its a good enough ending , in that we see the antagonist drive off into the sunset with her rescuers and her life and dreams ahead of her, but there are entirely TOOOO many loose ends! What ever happens to Ann Marie? Where does our heroine go and how does she and her willing captive fair? I hate the questions left unanswered in the end of this novel!!!! ) But all in all - a good read! Especially for teen girls, whom I imagine are the target audience. I just wanted More MORE MORE!!!!! IS there a sequel? I certainly hope there is one coming MICHELE GREENE! lol. GOOD BOOK.
Although this is a work of fiction, I've read enough about the FLDS sect to know that story rings true. A disturbing way to live and even more concerning to read about.
I was reading this book and was amazed at the topics that were mentioned, the depth that they went into about a woman's menstrual cycle,and the depth of the sexual encounters that occurred.I had finished reading it the day I got it, I couldn't put it down I was so intrigued by it.I highly recommend buying this book!Some parts were disturbing to read,about how some of the people who wouldn't help Alva Jane escape, and the rape that was committed by the prophets brother toward Alva Jane. It is just disgusting to think that the scenario's that happened in the book may have happened in real life polygamy cults.I truly recommend you buy this book, you won't be able to put it down!!!
